IDENTIFICATION CAUTION: When replacing a blown fuse, it is important to use only a fuse having the correct amperage rating. The use of a fuse with a rating other than indicated may result in a dangerous electrical system overload. If a properly rated fuse continues to blow, it indicates a problem in the circuit that must be corrected. FUSE BLOCK NOTE: Power Distribution Center (PDC) also contains fuses. See POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER . The fuse block is located below the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. Fuse Load Capacities Fuse are color coded as well as marked for identification. Always replace a fuse with a fuse of the correct amperage. See FUSE COLOR CODE IDENTIFICATION .
Fuse & Circuit Breaker Identification Pull the cover straight away from the instrument panel for access to the fuses. The fuse block contains blade- type fuses, relays, and circuit breakers for high-current circuits. For location and identification of fuse block fuses and relays. See Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 . POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER CAUTION: When replacing a blown fuse, it is important to use only a fuse having the correct amperage rating. The use of a fuse with a rating other than indicated may result in a dangerous electrical system overload. A Power Distribution Center (PDC) is located in the engine compartment. This center contains fuses and relays in addition to the fuse block. See Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 . This power center houses new plug-in cartridge fuses that replace most in-line fusible links previously used. The power center also contains plug-in relays. A label which identifies these components is located on the underside of the PDC cover. Always replace a fuse with a fuse of the correct amperage.
